Junior Section

The Juniors training session on Tuesday 3rd March has unfortunately been cancelled due to the Sports Hall being unavailable. We were not informed until after the Juniors had left last night’s session and can only apologise for this late notification.

Steve Stredwick has however arranged an outdoor training session for Tuesday 3rd March. It will include running on a street circuit, therefore the following conditions must be met:
Those taking part must be able to run 1000 metres.
The wearing of a high-viz top is mandatory, this is to conform to our insurance requirements. A yellow or orange top on its own will not be acceptable, it must include reflective panels or strips. Unfortunately, anyone who arrives without one will not be allowed to participate.
It must be stressed that this is an outdoor session therefore clothing appropriate to the weather conditions is necessary. It will definitely be cold and possibly wet!

The Thursday session will continue as normal and all members are invited to attend.

Saturday morning endurance training sessions will resume on the 28th February and will continue throughout the year. This week’s session will be from 9.30-10.30am in Croyland Park, Wellingborough. The meeting point is in the car park opposite to the junction of Kingsway and Princess Way.

As these are outdoor sessions, clothing should be appropriate to the prevailing weather conditions, so prepare for cold and possibly wet conditions.

A sweet treat for you all…I will be running my first ever marathon this year (closely followed by the London marathon 2 weeks later…!) and I have chosen to run Paris Marathon for the Alzheimer’s Society. As part of my fundraising efforts, I will be holding a cake sale at the club on Thursday after your run for you to enjoy a well-deserved treat! Please bring along your pennies as all proceeds go to charity. Any cake donations welcome, the more cake the merrier!
