We are a friendly club based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. No matter what your aims or goals are, whether it is for keeping fit, losing weight, joining in our social groups or running to be competitive, we can help! Training sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6.30 at Wrenn School, Doddington Road, Wellingborough, NN8 2JJ.

Welly Wobble!

The 'Welly Wobble' will take place on 5th June. To celebrate '20 years of WDAC'! There will be a four mile run, which incorporates 20 pubs! You will be in teams of six (with members from across the different level running groups), and every member will need to have a drink (doesn't have to be alcoholic!) at the first and last pub. You can nominate who drinks at the pubs inbetween! We are hoping for a BBQ at the school following the event. More details to follow shortly...

AGM

The annual AGM will be held at the Old Grammarians Sports ground on Sywell road on 12th April at 7pm. There will be NO formal training sessions on this night.
Food will be provided and there is a bar there for drinks.

Stick to your groups!

It has been noted that again some runners are changing groups without communicating this with their own and other group coaches. Training sessions are set up to give you the best training that is available, whether it be a tempo run, hill session or speed session, each of these sessions are designed to improve yourself as a runner, whether it be training for a 5k or a marathon. Obviously there are times when dropping down a group is the right thing to do, such as illness or inury, or up a group (with your coaches recommendation) to try to improve yourself, but because 'I dont fancy a speed session' is not acceptable. We are having groups too spread out because of this, and planned sessions are being compromised as the coach has not been told that they have extra runners from a different group.

Runners are reminded that you need to speak to both your coach and the group coach that you wish to go into before the start of a session if you wish to move groups that night. This is so the coach taking you can ensure that the session will be of value to you as well as the rest of the group.

PLEASE remember every coach at the club is a volunteer, they are not paid to take these sessions, it is not just the work they do each training evening, but they do a lot of work behind the scenes for the club and yourselves, please treat them with respect that they deserve.

Keep on running Green Army.
Regards,
Heather Burgess (Secretary)

New website!

February 2012 kicks off with a new website as created by Mary and Martin. Hopefully with the new design and updated content you will find it much easier to find your way around the website. As with everything new though, there are bound to be a few teething problems, so please let us know if you find any mistakes that need correcting.
We have included pages for the Club Records. These were not put together by ourselves, but were from an archive folder found in the website files. These are by no means complete, with several distances missing any records at all, and others no doubt needing to be updated. We would appreciate if you could make us aware of any updates required here also.

Many thanks!
