Cross country is back, unfortunately no 3 counties, but we do have the Chiltern League. Please note the following dates for your diaries:
16th October – Oxford City AC
13th November – Milton Keynes Teardrop Lakes
4th December – Keysoe, Bedford
15th January – Biggleswade
19th February – Milton Keynes Campbell Park (tbc)
There are 4 different categories, with different recommended distances:
Senior men : 8000-10000m
Senior women : 5500-6000m
Under 20/17 men : 5500-6000m
Under 20/17 female : 4500-5000m
For juniors this ranges from 2000-4000m depending on age/gender.
The Chiltern League is part of your membership subscription and therefore is free for members to enter, via our league rep Mark Cheadle (many thanks Mark for volunteering). The men’s and ladies captains will be looking for a good turnout as we don’t have the 3 counties this year and will probably collect names for Mark. Our juniors will also be racing at the same events. Unlike the 3 counties there are separate races for men, women and juniors, and there are no ‘free’ refreshments after! Club vests must be worn (hopefully that was obvious).
The English National Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday 26th February 2022 at Parliament Hill London.
Please let Jon Kemp know if you wish to enter, Jon will also send out a reminder about this in December.
We are still waiting for date for Midlands cross country, but this is usually 4 weeks earlier.
